HPV Vaccine

We are happy to notify you of the recent recommendation to vaccinate ALL children against HPV - Human Papillomavirus. This is following the American Academy of Pediatrics' policy statement of February, 2012 and prior statements by the ACIP, Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, from the CDC.

HPV can cause cancerous changes as well as serious infections. We are happy to share the fact that this is our FIRST vaccine that is specifically designed to prevent cancer. We are hoping to see a 75 - 80% reduction of cervical cancer cases, which number approximately 10,000 - 15,000 new cases per year in the United States.

We would be happy to discuss any aspect of this new policy with you. We are all very excited to be able to prevent cancer and infections with the HPV vaccination.
